Applique Rose of Sharon Quilt

Quilts this amazing are difficult to come by! This quilt is bright white, clean, and incredibly well-preserved. It is an applique quilt in a Rose of Sharon pattern. Two shades of pink have been used with a complimenting light green fabric. The entire piece was stitched by hand! Three sides are beveled, and the top is straight.

The depth of this quilt can be seen in the incredible quilting! It was made by an advanced quilter. The quilting is absolutely stunning and measures 10 SPI (stitches per inch!).

This quilt was discovered in the small town of Newton, Kansas. I received documentation on this quilt via text. On the back of the photo is a handwritten note naming the maker and dating the quilt around 1936/1937. (NOTE: I don’t currently have this photo but could mail it at a later date.)

The measurements are 82 x 88 inches. It is a light-to-medium weight piece with cotton batting and a bright white backing!

CONDITION

This quilt is in excellent vintage condition! One tiny, obscure mark was found along with a small trace of where a price tag once hung. This is as perfect as you can get with an older quilt!
