Antique Hexagon Variation Quilt

A unique pattern, this quilt would make a great addition to your collection! It is a rare combination of both a rare pattern and stunning early calicos.

The pattern is most likely a Hexagon or Spider’s Web variation.

The calico prints point to a late 1800s date. Deep indigos, browns and lovely greens are combined with reds and double pinks. The background fabrics are cream calico prints. The earth-tone colors blend together beautifully!

The quilt was hand pieced and hand quilted. It is double-bar quilted. The binding was attached by machine, folded over and stitched in place by hand.

This quilt measures 63.5 x 79 inches. It is a light-weight piece with cotton batting and a solid white back.

CONDITION

This quilt is in good antique condition. There is some dye rot present. From age and storage there is some tanning throughout. Fold lines are present on the back and there is slight wear along the binding. Considering this piece is well over 100 years old, it is in overall lovely condition!
