Antique Tulip Basket Quilt

DETAILS

This quilt was hand pieced in a pattern known as ‘Tulip Basket’. The rounded edges to the basket are machine appliqued along with the three stems present in each basket.

This quilt uses Turkey Red for the flowers, corner blocks, and binding. This fabric is known for its vibrant shade of red that stands the test of time! The tan fabric was most likely once an unstable green dye that has lost its color over time.

The quilting is absolutely stunning! The borders contain triple bar quilting with grid quilting throughout the center.

This quilt measures 67 x 82 inches. It is a light-weight piece with cotton batting and a solid white back.

CONDITION

This quilt is in great antique condition! There are a few ink spots on the sashing, as photographed. It has been incredibly well preserved!

Each quilt is carefully wrapped and shipped in a box. For sustainability, we do reuse boxes when possible.
